How to make a PDF smaller than 100 KB or 200 KB

You have your marksheet ready as a PDF, but the form says "maximum 100 KB" and your file is 2 MB. This happens to almost everyone. Here is how to fix it.

The quick way

  1. Pick the tool that matches your limit: Compress to 100 KB, Compress to 200 KB or Compress to 500 KB.
  2. Add your PDF.
  3. Download the smaller file and open it to check every page is easy to read.

If it is still too big

A few things make a PDF heavy. Fix them in this order.

  • Too many pages. Does the form need all of them? Take out the extra pages with Split PDF. Often one page is enough.
  • Colour scans. A colour scan can be five times bigger than black and white. If the form allows it, scan again in black and white.
  • Very large photos inside. If you made the PDF from phone photos, make the photos smaller first, then turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF.

Check that it is still readable

Zoom in on the small print: your roll number, marks, dates and the seal. If you can read them easily, the file is fine. If they look smudged, try a slightly bigger limit, or cut pages instead of squeezing harder.

A good habit

Keep the original big file safe in a folder. Make small copies from it each time a form needs one. Shrinking a file that was already shrunk makes it worse every time.

Your files stay private

Your marksheets and ID proofs are personal. On Luvkaam the PDF is made smaller on your own device and is not uploaded.
